    • Washington Elementary in partnership with Puentes Urban Forestry planted 26 trees along the outer areas in the grassy area of the school. Two types of trees were planted: Saratoga Bay Laurels and Chinese Pistache Trees. The trees were planted along the fence line on Fresno Street, the back of the school and the side of the school. WE are very grateful for all of the community support we received to make this day a huge sucess. We would like to acknowledge the many volunteers who came to help plant trees at Washington.
    • Our volunteers included: SUSD's Board President Maria Mendez, Board Member Cecilia Mendez, Dr. Reyes Gauna, Assistant Superintendent, Educational Support Services, SUSD Facilities Staff, Washington Students, Staff and Parents, Volunteers from our SUSD schools: Edison High School, Franklin High School, Health Careers Academy, Pittman, and Commodore
